Somaye's call for donors

Somaye's Story

It started with spots appearing on her body, severe leg pain, and night sweats. Somaye went for blood tests, and based on the results, the doctor requested a bone marrow biopsy. After about a month and a half the doctor reviewed her blood work and she was diagnosed with myelofibrosis and MDS.

Somaye is a civil engineer, and used to be very active and dynamic. But for the past year and a half, she has only been able to take on projects that can be done from home. The change in her lifestyle initially made her very depressed but gradually, she accepted her condition and decided to help herself. Since 2017, she has been passionate about drawing and painting. During her illness, art has helped her enormously and improved her mental well-being. That is why she decides to use colored pencils of all the people who have supported her in some way during this journey and to hold an exhibition of these portraits. Currently, one of her self-portraits created during her illness is being displayed in a group exhibition in Tehran. With all this said, Somaye would like to ask for your help — "perhaps you could assist me in finding a fully matched donor, so that I can go through the treatment, undergo transplantation, and return to my normal life"
