The race is on for more stem cell donors

DKMS teams up with racing driver David Edwards who has a family link to blood cancer.

David is taking part in two EnduroKA races this autumn - Oulton Park, 10 September, and Brands Hatch, 19-20 November 2022 - in a branded DKMS racing car to raise awareness of our cause.

In his first ever race, David came a respectable 18th at Oulton Park after completing 118 laps of the track in just over five hours. We are looking forward to seeing how he does at Brands Hatch in November.

It was also a family affair in the Edwards’ household as David and his wife Yemi held a swabbing event at The Star Inn on the 3 September 2022. It proved to be a popular event with more people joining the DKMS blood stem cell register. It also helped to raise awareness of blood cancer and how you can support DKMS.

David who is a registered donor himself said: “Registration is easy and the swabbing process is quicker than you think. It just takes three minutes and you could be a potential lifesaver to someone with blood cancer.”
