On Sunday 15 April, our CEO Stephan Schumacher went the extra mile to help the fight against blood cancer. Stephan joined over 10,000 runners at the Brighton Marathon, the UK’s second largest marathon. He successfully crossed the finish line in an impressive 4hrs and 26 minutes. The course saw him run passed iconic sites across the city such as Brighton Pier and the marina. Going the distance Stephan, who has worked for the charity both in Germany and the UK for over 23 years, is an avid runner.

Stephan joined over 10,000 runners at the Brighton Marathon, the UK’s second largest marathon. He successfully crossed the finish line in an impressive 4hrs and 26 minutes. The course saw him run passed iconic sights across the city such as Brighton Pier and the marina.
Going the distance
Stephan, who has worked for the charity both in Germany and the UK for over 23 years, is an avid runner. He previously completed the Windermere marathon in 2017 and has raised thousands to help with the cost of registering more potential blood stem cell donors.
Stephan said: "So many people go the extra mile to support us and I wanted to make my mark. I've been a passionate runner for many years and it was an honour to run on behalf of a charity that I feel so passionate about.
“It was an incredible feeling to cross the finish line and have the support of the crowd cheering you on. Congratulations to all the other runners.”
