Mark lives in Cornwall and is a father of three, he is bubbly and always has a smile on his face. Before his diagnosis with chronic myeloid leukaemia, Mark enjoyed going on lots of walks on the beach or through the woods. He urgently needs a blood stem cell transplant to continue spending quality time with his children.
Marks diagnosis with chronic myeloid leukaemia
Mark’s diagnosis with chronic myeloid leukaemia means he desperately needs a blood stem cell transplant in order to survive and continue spending time with his three children. Despite his diagnosis, Mark has continued to work full time. Mark’s 5 year old son, Alfie, says Mark has “poorly blood” and that a really nice person is going to give him blood (stem cells) to make him better.
Mark spends most of his free time with his three children; he loves watching Formula 1 and football and is an avid supporter of Plymouth Argyle. He has been nominated for the “Pride of Britain” award as “Fundraiser of the year” showing just how much he is valued within the community. Mark enjoys fundraising to help people and organisations who have helped him, for example he undertook a skydive in aid of a popular cancer support charity. The family love going to the beach which, living in Cornwall, is never too far away.
