Lara has a blood cancer but you could save her life! Join us on 31st January to register for Lara and others.
Lara is a 24-year-old Chinese-Thai-Italian student passionate about human rights and working on refugee issues. She was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia in December 2015, and will need a stem cell donor to save her life.
Her mixed heritage makes it extremely hard to find a stem cell donor as matching types are an inherited trait. By registering as a potential blood stem cell donor, you could possibly provide a gift of life to Lara and others like her in their time of greatest need.
To find out if you are a matching donor for Lara, or someone just like her, all it takes is a simple swab of the inside of your cheek and 15 minutes of your time. If you are in general good health and are between the ages of 18-55, you can become a potential blood stem cell donor. Pre-registration is possible from the age of 17. We’re not stopping until we find a matching donor for every person in need.
